Nathan has been extremely irratable the past few days and I can only speculate why. Let the speculation begin.
I am half expecting a tooth (or two or three or four) to break through at any moment since he is gnawing at everything from my toes to the beans that should have been inside the bean bag and not all over the living room floor.

And for your information The Bean Bag Incident occured this morning. I will leave it at that and continue speculating.
Nathan has been showing the following symptoms:
1. Irritability. This word can barely describe the extent of his crankiness. Maybe I should write Irritability.
2. Coughing. Self explanatory.
3. Hoarse voice. That is hoarse noises not words.
4. Clumsiness. Tripping, falling, losing balance, etc resulting in bumps, bruises, bouts of screaming and crying, and most recently blood. See evidence below.
This evening moments before CFPapa arrived home, Nathan face planted on the deck and split his lip open.

This was the first time that I have ever seen blood dripping from my son not by the work of a needle.
My fat lipped little sick boy looks exhausted with his red and puffy eyes. He refuses to rest and prefers verbalizing his discomfort for all to hear, ad infinitum.

I have been driving him around in the car to comfort and quiet him, trying to preserve what is remaining of his hoarse little voice and my insanity.
But you know how Nathan is, always has a little smile left in him fat lip and all.

And totally unrelated to my sick boy...

It is pet week and I have just the photograph to enter. It is from the block party that I attended on Saturday. Meet Max as he lounges on a patio chair. Only a dog can achieve this much relaxation amidst so much action.

He sure is cute with all of that hair. Jakob had those Carter's pjs....they were my favorite.
I am sorry your son is sick, but he sure is cute. Love the pic of your dog.
Oh man you are gonna find those little balls from inside the bean bag forever, and in the weirdest places!
Hopefully whatever this is goes away soon. I can't imagine cleaning up the beans from the beanbag chair. Yikes.
Praying that Nathan recovers quickly and that you retain your sanity in teh process. God bless.
I am sorry but I had to laugh! I can see that happening at our house too!
I hope Nathan is feeling better soon. I'm so glad to have come across your blog via Blog Frog.
I agree that he sure is cute to be feeling so bad. I hope he begins to feel better soon and that whatever is going with him is nothing serious.
Aside from teething, do you think he might have acid reflux? The hoarse voice is a common symptom of acid coming up to the throat. Or it could be hoarse from all the crying, but reflux is so common in infancy, I thought I would throw it out there. Hope he feels better soon!
Teething is hard on babies and mamas! Someone once told me that you know they are teething when you don't recognize the behavior of your child. Griffin was SUPER whiny last week and I said to myself, "Who is this child and where did my sweet boy go?" Then I felt in his mouth and there's a molar coming in ... yuck! Good luck!
Sorry to hear that your baby boy is sick. It's so tough when they don't feel good. Hopefully he will kick this soon and be feeling better in no time.
I can't believe the bean bag mess...bet that was a ton of fun to clean up!!!
Hope he feels better soon. Sorry to hear about the bean bag mess.
Nathan is absolutely precious. Beautiful!
OH my!!! Although we have huge messes here too I believe that one takes the cake! Hope that little cutie feels better soon so as to save you from self implosion.
