25/365 {Heaven}

In Teagan's Heaven there will be paint, a lot of paint.  There will be an abundance of art supplies in general, but since paint doesn't come out of the craft cabinet often, it is one of the most highly sought after art mediums, followed closely by markers. It also usually ends up covering every square inch of skin.  I am learning to strip her down to a bare canvas and then head straight to the bathtub.  It makes for easier cleanup.  I feel like I can confidently give her the title of Crafthole Jr.

24/365 {Miss Lexi & Scruffy Jr}

Grandma and Grandpa Bill got new kitties.

23/365 {Baby Pants}

January sucks the life out of me every year.  I'd be brave enough to say February will be similar.  I enjoy winter and I enjoy snow in moderation but once I got the taste of a school day in my mouth, I don't like an abundance of snow days.  Abundance meaning at least one per week.  In an attempt to make my days somewhat interesting and less monotonous I've been crafting, since I'm a crafthole and all.  If you don't know what a crafthole is think two words, one less appropriate than the other, squashed together.  Then you can go ahead and sing it to the tune of Dennis Leary's "I'm an as.....", well we don't have to go there, but I often sing it while craftholing.

Anyway, here is the fruit of this week's labor: newborn baby pants and bonnet sets for boys.  I have so much surplus fabric that I gotta do something with it.  Now my goal is to finish them and get them in my etsy shop.

Eye liner, lip stick, while daddy was in the shower, without help.

21/365 {My Cleaning Lady}

She dumped the entire can of soda on the kitchen floor, it is only fair that she would be the one to help clean it up.  Actually Jay cleaned the mess and, after I continued to stick to the floor, I mopped it, and then little lover of cleaning demanded the mop.

And yes, I loved the hospital mop so much (the one that was used daily to clean Nathan's room) that I had to have one too.  What I love most is the adjustable handle which make mopping for us tall folks alot more comfortable and has 18 inch wide microfiber mop pads to clean a larger area in less time.  The entire system is commercial (Rubbermaid Hygen ) but available to order online.  We ordered ours from Amazon after his last hospital admission (links above).

18/365 {Crazed} and 19/365 {A Tribute}

These images were both taken the same day.  I had a very lazy Saturday, mainly because I was exhausted from the social the night before.

This first image is one of our two crazed children while I was waiting for my tattoo appointment.

The second image is of the lilac flowers added to my mom's handwriting tattoo.  I'm done with tattoos for a while.  I will eventually get a Cystic Fibrosis tattoo and another to pay tribute to my dad.  But this stuff is permanent so I have to think about my ideas until I am absolutely certain.

17/365 {Rockin' 80's}

A totally radical evening at the 80's winter social!

15/365 {Tap Shoes}

These were my tap shoes at her age, they give me headaches, they are probably ruining our hardwood floors, but she loves them, and is currently wanting to wear them all her waking hours.  The tap rules are as follows:
  • Tip toe on hardwood and tile
  • Stomp away on carpet
  • New rule: only in our house, not outside, not in anyone else's house

She is following these rules 90% of the time but sometimes, for the sake of sanity, I get them to disappear way up high in our coat closet for as long as possible.

14/365 {Catnip Courage}

Today, I could have posted about my terrible, horrible, no good, very bad how the kids terrorized each other all morning, or how Nathan cut a lock of his own and his sister's hair and then joined forces to pound cheese doodles into the floor with wooden spoons.  Or how, in an act of desperation, I dropped the kids off at my in law's house and took a mommy time out to scout out some 80's outfits for Friday's party.  But since at the end of the day none of that  really seems significant anymore, I decided to simply sit back and watch the cats get high, because that never gets old.

What I love most about catnip is how our shy and timid Ragdoll cat, Mischa, pushes the other two cats out of the way, plops herself on top of the lid and then proceeds to roll around in it.  Catnip gives her wings, or as Jay calls it "catnip courage".

13/365 {Nurture}

Teagan loves her stuffed animals, photo taken Dec. 21, 2013. Is that cheating?

 If that doesn't count, I'll post this photo of what I did today, helped create Rubik's cubes and speakers for the 80's Winter Social at school.  Photo credit: Ria.  Photobomb credit: Sir Felix.

It's torture, for me mostly.

9/365 {Learn}

In life, I believe the process of learning should never end.  This applies to everything in life, no matter how simple.

Today I decided to further my learning and work on a type of knitting called entrelac because I love the way it looks.  I am not knitting this into anything in particular, just practicing.  Although I am thinking it would make a nice doll sized afghan for Teagan to play with.

8/365 {Attached}

She doesn't like to sleep in her bed, she doesn't like to sleep in our bed when we aren't in it, she is attached.

I started a New Year's Project 365 at CMS Creative Photography but decided to move it over here.

7/365 {Frozen}

Initially when embarking on my project 365, I thought I would post the images daily on my photography blog but I don't want client images to get lost in my photo a day project.  From here on out, I will be posting my daily photos here.

6/365 {Magic}

Now matter how I title (classic, retro, etc), the View-Master will always remain magical in the eyes of a child.  Heck, I still find it amusing.

5/365 {Pug Life}

A birthday card we found today from Nathan's first birthday, 4 years ago, apparently Emma and Brigid knew something we didn't even know - that our family was destined for Pug Life.

2/365 {Tigress}

For the third time today, Teagan transformed herself into a tigress, complete with growling.  Each bath gave her a blank canvas to sneak away and create her tiger stripes all over again.  Markers will be missing in action tomorrow.

1/365 {Balance}

Happy New Year!  Today marks the beginning of 2014 and I am excited to be inspired and set new personal and business goals.  I am challenging myself to complete a Project 365.   It is going to be more of an effort to photograph our life with the big lenses since I've grown distant from using anything other than my iPhone on a daily basis.  So, welcome to my journey and I hope you enjoy the glimpse into the creative corner of my mind.
